Sometimes a simple, almost insignificant gesture on the part of a teacher can have a profound formative effect on the life of a student. ~ Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of Freedom
As a teacher we must be able to think about everything you do and say in front of your students because they usually have an image about you as a person who was wisdom and if you use that influence correctly they will show their best every day.
On my own experience since last year I started to work in a school as an English teacher and notice that the kids were afraid to pronounce and share what they know so I try to encourage them to trust truly in the skills they have. And this year I can see the results of my actions in class last year, now they are able to improve their skills, think positively and also encourage people to try speak in English.
I cannot be a teacher without exposing who I am. ~ Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of Freedom
If your students didn’t know you is going to be hard to teach anything because if the don’t feel you cares or trust in them to share something personal, maybe your story or something that happen surely they would think that you never made a mistake so they supposed that have to be perfect to reach you and have a relationship with you or talk with you. Communication is important in the process of knowing people.
